Heavy sanctions await ‘abusive’ Pasay cop
A woman appeared before the National Police Commission (Napolcom) on Thursday to file administrative complaints against her live-in partner, a Pasay City police officer, accusing him of years of physical, emotional and psychological abuse.
The woman, identified as alias “Kara,” detailed the alleged abuse at a news conference at the Napolcom Central Office in Quezon City. She said Police Staff Sgt. Tyran John Miranda repeatedly beat and threatened her over nearly six years.
“Repeated abuse physically, emotionally, and mentally. Repeated beatings,”Kara disclosed.
Walking media members through home security footage that circulated widely on social media after she posted it, Kara showed clips of Miranda kicking her on a staircase and pursuing her while she held their child.
She said the violence began in December 2022 when Miranda pointed a firearm at her inside her vehicle.
