CBS honors educators, reaffirms education support commitment

Teacher Ivan Hernandez, 29, hails from Bayuin National High School in Socorro, Oriental Mindoro, where he has been teaching for the past eight years. Usually, on National Teachers' Day celebrations Hernandez is tasked with honoring his fellow teachers, leading the student body and faculty in organizing the annual festivities.

Last 5 October 2026, he represented his school during the national celebration held at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Metro Manila.

Hernandez was thrilled to witness the national celebration and was impressed by the scale of the activities, including the giveaways and raffle prizes donated by private sponsors.

The teacher dedicated to celebrating his fellow educators on campus ended up winning the grand raffle prize, an SUV donated by CBS.

Ever humble, Hernandez believes it was the prayers of his colleagues and students that helped him win.

“Of all the teachers who make greater sacrifices, and of all those who are struggling more and are in greater need, I was the one chosen. Perhaps the prayers of my colleagues at Bayuin National High School helped, along with the prayers of those whose lives we have touched through our various programs and all the students we have inspired in our school. Perhaps that was the Lord’s gift to us, which led to this blessing being bestowed upon us by CBS,” Hernandez said.
