Mimecast expands Singapore data hosting

DT · Oct 21, 2026, 3:42 AM

Cybersecurity company Mimecast has expanded its regional infrastructure to Singapore, allowing businesses in the Philippines and seven other Asian markets to store and process their data closer to home.

The new service, hosted on Amazon Web Services, is available to organizations in Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand.

The expansion addresses growing corporate concerns over data residency, particularly where sensitive communications, email records and compliance-related information are stored and processed.

Mimecast said customers using its Singapore infrastructure will retain access to its full cybersecurity platform, including artificial intelligence-powered capabilities, without operating on a separate regional version.

The company said the Singapore deployment uses the same software, monitoring systems and security processes as its other hosting locations.

The service builds on Mimecast’s existing regional infrastructure in the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia and South Africa.

“Data residency has become a critical decision point for enterprises across Southeast Asia,” said Pravar Gautam, director of APJ Partner Core at AWS.
