Insurtech provider unveils 'Travel 360' tackling holiday travel disruptions

As peak holiday travel approaches, insurance provider Etiqa Philippines has launched Travel 360, a comprehensive travel insurance product designed to protect individuals and families against flight delays, lost baggage, medical emergencies, and unexpected financial disruptions.

The new product integrates broader travel inconvenience benefits, digital tracking capabilities, medical assistance, and lifestyle-oriented coverage into a single package. Covid-19 coverage is now automatically included in the plan, eliminating the need for travelers to purchase separate add-on policies.

Etiqa Philippines president and chief executive officer Anthony Lou M. Bernabe said the initiative combines local market understanding with the strength of the company's regional network across Asia.

He cited that travel should bring families together and create lasting memories rather than leave them feeling unprepared when schedules change, adding that the goal of the product is to give travelers greater confidence on their journeys.

The insurance policy covers common travel disruptions such as trip cancellations, baggage delays, fraudulent credit card usage, and the loss of essential travel documents.

It also features automatic flight tracking and delay notifications sent directly via text message, allowing passengers to stay informed while managing multi-generational family itineraries, luggage, and hotel transfers.

Etiqa Philippines head of Strategy and Transformation Gladys Pascual stressed that humanizing insurance involves building protection around real-world needs, making travel coverage more inclusive and reassuring for modern households.

To support multi-generational family travel, the plan extends eligibility to senior citizens up to 80 years old, making holiday planning more accessible for families traveling with aging parents or grandparents.

Beyond standard medical and travel delay provisions, the policy incorporates specialized lifestyle protections that address practical concerns home and abroad. These include coverage options for pet care arrangements while owners are away, home contents protection during trips, coverage for golf-related itineraries, and women-specific travel safeguards.

Insurance executives advised holiday travelers to include comprehensive travel protection alongside standard preparations such as verifying passports and visas, securing necessary medications, maintaining digital copies of vital documents, and establishing emergency contacts before departure.
