Tesla has improved the acceleration of its six-seater Model Y L electric SUV while expanding its charging network and customer facilities in the Philippines.

The Model Y L can now accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds, half a second quicker than its previous five-second time. The improvement comes as standard at no additional cost.

The electric SUV also offers a driving range of up to 681 kilometers under the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), which measures vehicle efficiency and energy consumption under controlled conditions.

Tesla designed the Model Y L with families in mind, with six seats and an emphasis on passenger comfort. The company also cites the safety ratings its vehicles have received from organizations in the United States, Europe, Australia and China.

Customers in the Philippines can order the upgraded Model Y L through Tesla’s official website.

The latest update comes as Tesla adds more charging facilities across the country, particularly outside Metro Manila.

Its latest Destination Charging station at SM City Clark in Pampanga has four charging slots at the mall’s North Parking area. Each slot can deliver up to 11 kilowatts of charging power.

The facility opened alongside Tesla’s promotional activity at SM City Clark. Visitors can view the company’s electric vehicles and schedule test drives during the event.

Customers who complete a vehicle reservation within the campaign period may also receive Supercharging credits equivalent to up to 5,000 kilometers of travel.

Tesla owners in Central Luzon also have access to an accredited body shop at LAUS Auto Service Center.

The company currently operates four Supercharger sites with a combined 16 Superchargers in the Philippines. It also has 10 Destination Charging locations with 40 Wall Connectors.

Additional Supercharger stations are planned in Baguio, Manila, Seven/Neo in Bonifacio Global City, Paseo Center in Makati and Robinsons Magnolia in Quezon City.

Two more Destination Charging facilities are scheduled to open at SM City Cebu and SM Olongapo Central.

Tesla has yet to announce the opening dates of these additional charging locations.

Meanwhile, the company continues to offer financing packages and purchase incentives to attract more Filipino customers.

Its Model 3 electric sedan is available through financing plans with monthly payments that start at P29,990, subject to financing terms.

Eligible buyers may also receive complimentary Supercharging credits, one year of comprehensive insurance, a home charger and other limited-time purchase incentives.

Tesla’s referral program provides existing owners with P6,500 in Tesla credits for every successful referral. New customers who purchase a vehicle through the program can receive a P13,000 benefit.

Owners can also join the Tesla Owners Club, which provides access to discounts and privileges from participating merchant partners.

Apart from its Tesla Center in Bonifacio Global City, the company maintains temporary vehicle displays at Alabang Town Center and Opus Mall.
