HARRY Potter: Visions of Magic in Singapore.

I expected another Harry Potter attraction filled with familiar props, photo spots and a little nostalgia for the wizarding world I grew up loving.

Instead, Harry Potter: Visions of Magic at Resorts World Sentosa surprised me by making me feel like I had stepped into the wizarding world itself. Rather than simply recreating scenes from the films, the experience invites visitors to interact with magical spaces, uncover hidden details, and imagine the stories unfolding around them.

Spread across 10 themed environments — including two found only in Singapore — the attraction transforms some of the Wizarding World’s most mysterious locations into immersive, walk-through installations.

The adventure starts aboard the Knight Bus, where shifting lights, warped perspectives, and moving visuals recreate the dizzying ride through London. Hearing conductor Stan Shunpike’s familiar voice instantly set the mood, making it feel as though the triple-decker bus had come to life.

From there, I wandered into the eerie halls of Grimmauld Place, where the ancestral Black family home seemed to appear and disappear before my eyes. Waving my wand at different corners unlocked hidden surprises, including a glimpse of Sirius Black peering from the walls.

One of the most entertaining stops was the Ministry of Magic. Stepping inside the iconic red telephone booth became part of the experience, giving Potterheads a playful way to connect with the magical government.

The Hall of Prophecy felt almost endless. Surrounded by glowing glass orbs reflected across mirrored walls, I found myself pointing my wand at different prophecies just to see what magical secret each one would reveal.

One of Singapore’s exclusive installations, the Chamber of Secrets, recreates the underground chamber beneath Hogwarts with towering stone walls, serpent-inspired details, and dramatic lighting that captures the mystery surrounding Tom Riddle’s hidden sanctuary. It easily became one of my favorite rooms.

The mood shifted inside Newt’s Menagerie, where giant LED displays brought magical creatures to life. Inspired by Newt Scamander’s enchanted suitcase, the room celebrates fantastic beasts through vibrant visuals that make the creatures seem as though they are roaming freely around you.

Things became noticeably darker upon entering Knockturn Alley. Narrow pathways, dim lighting, and shelves filled with mysterious magical objects perfectly captured the sinister atmosphere of the wizarding world’s infamous shopping street.

Then came the Room of Requirement, a space that constantly surprises with interactive effects and magical moments that reveal themselves only as you explore. It was one of those rooms that rewarded curiosity, encouraging me to keep looking around because something unexpected always seemed ready to happen.

The final Singapore-exclusive attraction, The Trap Door, pays tribute to the challenges guarding the Philosopher’s Stone. Rather than recreating a single scene, it guides visitors through a series of interactive chambers inspired by the obstacles Harry, Ron, and Hermione famously overcame.

Even after finishing the experience, the magic doesn’t end. The retail shop offers everything from replica wands and exclusive collectibles to souvenirs that Potter fans would gladly take home. A stop at the Butterbeer Café is almost mandatory, where visitors can enjoy the franchise’s signature drink along with light snacks before leaving.

Although the attraction can be completed in about an hour, I spent nearly two and a half hours exploring every room, trying different wand interactions, and taking in the intricate details hidden throughout the experience. There was never any pressure to rush, allowing me to enjoy each space at my own pace.

Located at Resorts World Sentosa, Harry Potter: Visions of Magic is easily accessible via the Sentosa Express from VivoCity. Simply alight at Resorts World Station and follow the signs toward The Weave.
