CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police have recovered an estimated ₱2.72 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested two individuals, including a high-value target, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City.

Reports from Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said the Mabalacat City Police Station – Station Drug Enforcement Unit carried out the operation at around 9:45 PM on October 15 in Barangay Dau, resulting in the arrest of two 35-year-old men identified only by their aliases "Boy" and "Dondon."

Approximately 400 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱2,720,000 was recovered.

"Boy" is listed as a high-value individual who had been under intelligence surveillance, according to PRO3. The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

"We will not allow illegal drugs to enter and spread in our communities. Every operation like this keeps dangerous substances off our streets and away from our people, especially the youth," Regional Director PBGen Jess B. Mendez said in a statement.

"We will continue going after those involved in the illegal drug trade because protecting every family remains our priority," he added.

He noted that the campaign extends beyond making arrests, stressing the need to identify and cut off drug sources.

Charges under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared.

Both suspects and the seized evidence remain in the custody of the Mabalacat City Police Station.
