The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) placed all Metro Manila police units on heightened alert Wednesday, ordering personnel to prepare for potential spontaneous demonstrations following developments in the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.

NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano directed district commanders to monitor political developments closely, assess security risks, and maintain operational readiness across their respective jurisdictions.

Abrahano stressed that police officers must strictly observe nonpartisanship, warning personnel not to let personal political views interfere with their duties.

“The police force must remain professional, impartial, and focused on its mandate to protect lives, secure communities, and preserve peace and order throughout Metro Manila,” Abrahano said.

He also instructed officers to exercise maximum tolerance and avoid unnecessary confrontations with protesters.

Commanders were instructed to ensure clear communication, strategic personnel deployment, and lawful, proportionate crowd management measures to uphold civil liberties while maintaining public order.

Concurrently, the NCRPO initiated security preparations for the upcoming observance of Undas, the annual All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day holidays, when millions visit cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria across Metro Manila.
