Police chiefs told: Maintain clean, professional stations

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) officer-in-charge Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano issued a directive Monday commanding all police district commanders and precinct chiefs across Metro Manila to maintain clean, orderly and presentable station premises.

Abrahano stressed that public-facing police facilities directly reflect the professional discipline, internal accountability and operational readiness of law enforcement personnel serving the capital region.

“Cleanliness and orderliness are part of our responsibility to the public,” Abrahano said.

“When people enter a police station, they should see an environment that is organized, safe, and ready to serve them. We cannot expect the public to have confidence in our service if we fail to maintain the very facilities where that service is delivered,” he added.

The operational directive instructs station commanders to implement daily maintenance and sanitation protocols across all administrative offices, public entryways, waiting areas, rest facilities, detention cells and perimeter grounds.

Commanders were specifically instructed to ensure proper waste management, clear unobstructed hallway passageways, secure hazardous electrical wiring and equipment, and keep public reception spaces accessible for citizens seeking emergency assistance or filing crime complaints.

Under the new order, precinct heads must establish routine facility inspections, delegate specific zone maintenance duties to staff personnel, and rectify physical infrastructure deficiencies immediately upon discovery.

Abrahano cited that facility maintenance supports the regional police force’s broader program to foster disciplined, respectable, and community-focused public servants across Metro Manila.
