A former member of a communist terrorist group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered along with his firearms to the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija.

In a statement issued on 10 October 2026, the former CTG member is identified as a resident of Bongabon, and a former member of a dismantled regional operating group. He decided to return to the folds of the law to start a peaceful life.

Acting on vital information provided by the former rebel, a joint minor combat operation was launched by the 1st PMFC, NEPPO (3rd Maneuver Platoon as Lead Unit), together with Bongabon Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit-NEPPO, and Provincial Intelligence Team, NE-Regional Intelligence Unit 3.

The operation led to the successful recovery of an illegal firearm in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija. The recovered weapon has been secured by the 1st PMFC, NEPPO Headquarters for proper documentation and disposition.

This successful turnover highlights the growing trust of former rebels in the government's path toward lasting peace and order.
