A night of distinction: PIID celebrates 62 years of design excellence with the First Lady
The anniversary gala commemorated past achievements and also set the stage for the next chapter of the Philippine interior design profession.
The Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID) celebrated its milestone 62nd anniversary with a spectacular gala night at The Fifth at Rockwell, located in the Balmori Suites, Makati City.
Coinciding with the opening of the Manila Interior Design Summit (MIDS) 2026, the prestigious dinner under the theme “Legacy Forward: Shaping New Worlds” brought together the country’s leading design practitioners, visionaries and industry partners.
In a true testament to the event’s national significance, the evening was graced by the First Lady of the Republic of the Philippines, Liza Araneta-Marcos, adding a layer of distinguished honor to the celebration of more than six decades of design excellence, innovation and community.

Centered on defining a distinctly Filipino design identity rooted in warmth and human connection, the night featured the launch of “Collective 8: Our Captains of Craft,” showcasing generational craftsmanship alongside the works of legendary Filipino design voices.
With 62 years of structural foundation, the presence of the First Lady and the collective energy of its members left attendees inspired to continue championing Filipino talent on a globally competitive scale as they embarked on the four-day learning summit.
