The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) penalized 70 police personnel between August and October as part of an intensified internal disciplinary drive aimed at eliminating administrative case backlogs across Metro Manila, officials announced Friday.

Administrative proceedings resulted in the dismissal of 13 officers from the police service and the suspension of 57 others following internal investigations.

NCRPO officials confirmed that the 13 dismissals stemmed from severe administrative and criminal violations, including prolonged absence without official leave, domestic abuse under Republic Act 9262, human trafficking under Republic Act 9208, and fraud.

The 57 suspensions involved offenses such as illegal arrests, indiscriminate discharge of firearms, official dishonesty, operational negligence, and general breaches of police regulations.

NCRPO officer-in-charge Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano stated that the disciplinary campaign enforces accountability while streamlining internal review procedures to achieve a zero-backlog target for administrative cases across the capital region.
