BDO provides affordable protection to meet unexpected health challenges
BDO Insure helps Filipinos prepare for the financial impact of a stroke, heart attack, or cancer diagnosis.
BDO Insure is offering critical illness protection starting at P215 annually, providing Filipinos with financial assistance of up to P1 million following a first diagnosis of cancer, heart attack or stroke.
Its Vital 3 plan is designed to help individuals manage expenses associated with serious illnesses without placing additional pressure on household savings. The product is available to individuals aged 18 to 65, with premiums varying according to age and the selected coverage amount.
Support for eligible cancer-related surgery
Beyond its core coverage, Vital 3 provides support for eligible cancer-related surgical procedures and qualifying dietary and nutritional therapy to assist recovery.
The offering comes as major illnesses continue to account for a significant share of deaths in the Philippines, highlighting the potential financial consequences for patients and their families.
Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority cited in the company’s press release showed that ischemic heart disease, which can lead to heart attacks, accounted for nearly 20 percent of all deaths in 2025. Cancer represented 11.4 percent, while cerebrovascular diseases, including stroke, accounted for 9.9 percent.
These conditions can entail substantial medical expenses and may affect a family’s ability to meet other financial commitments. BDO Insure said its Vital 3 plan aims to help customers prepare for these risks through relatively low-cost protection.
The company encouraged Filipinos to consider financial preparedness for unexpected health challenges, particularly as medical costs continue to rise.
Coverage is subject to the policy’s terms, conditions and exclusions. Premiums also depend on the applicant’s age and chosen benefit amount.
