Dizon belies ‘switcheroo’ with Lopez
Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon on Thursday denied he was being moved out of the post by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“That’s not true,” Dizon told reporters as he inspected the Maysan Road rehabilitation work in Valenzuela City.
He said he will continue to focus on his job at the department. “We will just keep working,” he said.
Last 30 September, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. extended the interim appointments of Dizon and Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez.
Recent reports said Dizon will be brought back to the Department of Transportation which he headed before being transferred by Marcos to the Department of Public Works and Highways, while Lopez will be moved to the DPWH.
Marcos appointed Dizon to the DPWH in September 2025 to replace then Secretary Manuel Bonoan who resigned amid allegations of his involvement in the flood control mess.
Bonoan was arrested and later released after the Sandiganbayan granted the motion of state prosecutors to exclude from the flood control charges so he could become a state witness against those involved in the anomalous government flood control projects.
