BDO Life settles claim in less than 24 hours

A BDO Life insurance claim filed by the family of a deceased policyholder was approved within hours of submission, with the proceeds made available for pick-up the following day.

Jhun Benedicto and his daughter, Lora, submitted the required documents to their BDO Life Financial Advisor on a Monday morning following the death of Jhun’s son, Dominic.

By noon, the family was informed that the claim had been approved. Later that day, they were told that the check would be ready for pickup at their BDO branch the following morning.

The quick processing provided financial relief to the family as they dealt with the loss of Dominic.

Dominic had taken out a life insurance policy and named his sister, Lora, as its beneficiary. The policy was intended to help provide for Lora’s future, according to BDO Life.

Lora had initially expected the claim process to take weeks. Her father, Jhun, who has been a non-life insurance practitioner for a long time, was likewise familiar with the usual claims process and expected a similar wait.

Instead, the claim was approved on the same day the documents were submitted.

For Jhun, the proceeds represented more than immediate financial assistance, as they also reflected his son’s effort to continue providing for his sister even after his death.

BDO Life said the swift settlement allowed the family to focus on grieving and remembering Dominic without the added uncertainty of waiting for financial assistance.
