Brothers arrested for illegal possession of firearms in Nueva Ecija

The authorities arrested two brothers during a buy-bust operation for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) at Brgy. Valdefuente, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on 6 October 2026.

According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the CIDG Nueva Ecija Provincial Field Unit together with Cabanatuan City Police Station conducted the operation that resulted in the arrest of two male suspects for alleged illegal possession of four firearms.

In a report submitted to CIDG Director, Police Major General Robert AA Morico II, it stated that the younger sibling was caught while dealing and selling M16 rifle, caliber 40 pistol, and caliber 380 pistol, all without the necessary document.

The older brother on the other hand, was caught while in the possession of alleged unlicensed caliber 45 pistol.

The CIDG leadership lauds PCOL Grant A Gollod, the Regional Chief of CIDG Regional Field Unit 3, and the CIDG Nueva Ecija Provincial Field Unit led by PLTCOL Neilmar T Retana for remarkably confiscating four firearms - at once. This underscores the Unit’s commitment in preventing crimes by accounting and removing from circulation and use all instruments of killing and violence.

The CIDG assures the public that it is resolute in enforcing the law, and unyielding in cracking down illegal firearms, to secure the peace and order, and public safety- across the country.
