Subic Bay Freeport – The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) is set to hold various events this month as part of the Halloween celebration inside this Freeport on 30 and 31 of October 2026.

According to SBMA Tourism Manager Jem Camba, the 2026 Subic Bay Freeport (SBF) Halloween Celebration will be held at the Boardwalk Events Center and other areas inside the Freeport.

She added that the first night of the 2026 SBF Halloween Celebration will include: a Flash Mob; Décor Contest; Float Competition; Halloween Shack Competition; Costume Competition for Adults and Kids; and the Spooky House Competition.

During the second day, the events will include a Halloween Night Run with categories such as 1-kilometer Pet, 3-kilometer, 5-kilometer, and 10-kilometer, and will start at the Remy Field and would go along SBF road links.

“The traditional Trick or Treat event will still be held at the Binictican Residential area as residents of Subic Bay Freeport will give out candies to kids who would knock on their doors on October 31. This has been a tradition here since Subic was still a US Naval Base,” she added.

Last year, thousands of local tourists flocked the Mini Golf Course to participate in the Halloween celebration. The SBMA employees showed off their creativity by putting up Halloween shacks that scared tourists who flocked the event.

Halloween celebrations in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone trace their roots back to the American era when the area served as a United States Naval Base.

American service members and resident families introduced Western-style Halloween traditions, including neighborhood trick-or-treating and community costume parties, to the residential housing areas inside the base.

When the base converted into the Subic Bay Freeport Zone managed by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), local residents and employees maintained these long-standing traditions.
