‘Money Guro’ expands beyond financial literacy
Non-bank financial services provider Cebuana Lhuillier has launched a micro-loan platform targeting small business owners, expanding its financial education initiative into direct lending.
The new product line, designated Money Guro Loans, offers financing ranging from P5,000 to P20,000 with repayment terms spanning three to six months.
Cebuana Lhuillier president and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier said the loan program aims to connect financial literacy with operational capital for micro-entrepreneurs.
"Financial literacy is only meaningful when it empowers people to act," Lhuillier said in a statement. "With Money Guro Loans, we are giving Filipino entrepreneurs the means to turn knowledge into opportunity, to grow their businesses, and to strengthen their communities."
The program introduces four micro-loan categories tailored to specific business sectors.
The MerryBiz Loan provides inventory capital for retail vendors preparing for holiday seasonal demand, while the ClickStart Loan offers working capital for e-commerce vendors expanding digital storefronts.
Additionally, the SheGlows Loan targets women-owned enterprises in the personal care and beauty sector, and the FoodTrip Loan delivers capital for home-based food vendors, bakeries, food carts, and neighborhood eateries.
Applicants complete an online screening process, with loan disbursements and repayments managed through Cebuana Lhuillier’s nationwide branch network.
