Not wanting to feel the heat online as an aftermath of her two cents worth in the controversial fray between Patrick Garcia and Jennylyn Mercado, veteran actress Gelli de Belen chose to shut down the comment section of her Instagram account.

This came right on the heels of back-to-back criticism after de Belen said this in her most recent interview: “Hindi kailangang maging ganito kalaki kasi (This need not be this big) the reason why this was brought up was because nasaktan ’yung anak ni Patrick (Patrick’s kid was hurt by what happened).”

“Sana ’wag nating kalimutan na may mga batang pinag-uusapan at ’yun naman sila talaga ang pinakaimportante dahil ’yung mga magulang, mga nakakatanda, nakapag-move on na sila sa mga buhay nila ((Hope we don’t forget that there are kids involved and they are the most important because the parents and the elders have moved on with their lives),” she added.

With this, netizens felt De Belen took the side of Garcia, which was why bashing came left and right.

For us, this is the best reaction we’ve read so far:

“Gelli de Belen, your comments about Patrick Garcia’s interview came across as very one-sided. While it is understandable to be concerned about the children, it is also important to acknowledge that there are different sides, experiences and feelings involved.”

“I honestly expected a more balanced and thoughtful opinion from someone with your experience. Janice has always seemed more careful and level-headed when speaking publicly,” the fan noted, adding that “at this point, instead of adding fuel to the situation, perhaps it would be better to clarify your statement or apologize if it hurt people. The public reaction is already intense and dragging up someone’s old personal issues will not help anyone — including the children everyone claims to be protecting.”

“Sometimes, choosing silence and humility is better than continuing a discussion that is already causing more negativity,” the fan finally wrote.

Actually, the controversy has gotten out of hand as the de Belen and Muhlach family was dragged in on the fray as Janice de Belen and Aga Muhlach’s son, Luigi Muhlach, clapped back at a basher who wrote; “Pamilya mo yan? Wala pang nadidisgrasya sayang naman (Is that your family? Nobody was hurt, it’s a pity)..”

Luigi retorted: “Tibay ng comment! Sabihin mo sa harap ko ’yan (Your comment is solid. Tell that to me in person).”

Ralph de Leon claims AZ Martinez did not reject him

Ralph de Leon guested on Gandang Gabi Vice where in his “Deep Truth” statement revealed that AZ Martinez did not reject him as a suitor.

Ralph said this in the Deep Truth segment: “Niligawan ko si AZ pero nireject ako (I courted AZ but she rejected me).”

Gandang Gabi Vice showed snippets of AZ and Ralph’s sweet moments together which made Vice Ganda drool over the pairing which Pinoy Big Brother produced.

Vice Ganda’s Geng Gang member, Vince Maristela, reacted: “Ako, hindi ko aakbayan ‘yung isang babae kung wala akong gusto (I would not wrap my arms around a girl’s shoulder if I didn’t like her).” admitting that he believes that Ralp did court AZ.

“Feeling ko, niligawan niya si AZ pero hindi ako naniniwala na rineject siya, e. Kasi ‘yung charm niya, secured siya, napa-confident (I feel, he courted AZ, but I don’t believe he was rejected. Because his charm, he’s secure, he is confident),” he said.

Later, Ralph revealed that his “Deep Truth” statement was actually a joke.

“Meme, ang deep statement ko ay... charot (My Deep Truth statement is...joke),” he said.

“Dahil very special friend ko talaga si AZ. Tsaka ‘yung ano naman doon, wala naman rejection ang naganap (It’s because AZ is a special friend. And the thing is, there was no rejection),” he explained.

“Walang rejection? So sinagot ka (There was no rejection? So, she said yes),” Vice Ganda quickly retorted.

Ralph just left a shrug as an answer.

So, there.
