Man shot multiple times in Candelaria

CANDELARIA, Quezon — Police launched a manhunt for a suspect after a 44-year-old man was shot several times in Barangay San Isidro here Sunday evening.

The shooting happened at about 7:45 p.m. on 4 October in Sitio Bacong.

Initial police investigation showed that the victim was on his way home when the suspect allegedly appeared and fired several shots using an unidentified firearm.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body and was rushed by relatives to Peter Paul Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the victim was able to identify the alleged gunman during an interview.

Candelaria police, together with other police units, launched manhunt and dragnet operations for the suspect, while the Quezon Provincial Forensic Unit was requested to process the crime scene.

Authorities said the appropriate case is being prepared for filing.
