Balanga City, Bataan — Aboitiz Power Corp. has turned over a fleet of electric vehicles and a fast-charging station to the provincial government of Bataan to support the province’s free public transit program and expand low-carbon transport options.

The power company handed over the fleet recently at Vista Mall Balanga through its thermal operating units, GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co.

The turnover included two 33-seater electric buses, a 14-seater passenger van, a seven-seater multipurpose vehicle, and an 80-kilowatt fast-charging station. The provincial government will oversee the operations and maintenance of the newly acquired fleet.

Primary operations for the electric buses will focus on transporting provincial scholars, servicing direct routes from Mariveles, Morong, Bagac and Dinalupihan to the Bataan Peninsula State University main campus in Balanga.

The donation forms part of Bataan’s sustainable mobility roadmap under Project Transform, an initiative led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) aimed at building climate resilience through science-based local interventions.

“The strongest partnerships are built not by a single project but by a shared advocacy to create opportunities for people,” said Celso C. Caballero III, president of the AboitizPower Transition Business Group.

“We are proud to stand alongside the Provincial Government of Bataan in advancing initiatives with lasting value for the community,” he added.

Bataan Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III accepted the vehicle fleet on behalf of the province, noting that the electric mobility initiative aligns with environmental targets established under the province’s agreement with the DENR.

“Thank you to AboitizPower for supporting our programs here in the province of Bataan,” Garcia said in Tagalog. “We cannot accomplish this without partners like you. We look forward to working with AboitizPower for more fruitful projects for our people.”
