For modern travelers, finding the perfect cup of coffee is no longer just a morning ritual — it’s the destination.
Digital travel platform Agoda has mapped out six Asian escapes where café culture and local flavor take center stage, according to a release shared with DAILY TRIBUNE.
Trading bustling coffee capitals for creative neighborhood hubs, the list highlights destinations where travelers can trace their brews straight to the source:
Da Lat, Vietnam: Known for its crisp mountain air and rich egg coffee, this highland city serves brews in converted wooden villas and lush gardens.
Ipoh, Malaysia: Famous for its signature white coffee, visitors can café-hop through restored shophouses before exploring nearby cave temples and heritage streets.
Jeju, South Korea: Sleek seaside spaces and citrus orchards provide stunning backdrops for brews infused with distinct volcanic island ingredients.
Bali, Indonesia: Beyond the beaches, Ubud’s lush highlands offer farm tours featuring unique tasting notes ranging from coconut to avocado.
Hualien, Taiwan: This relaxed gateway to the island’s eastern landscapes pairs Pacific views with locally grown Taiwanese beans and creative brewing.
Chiang Rai, Thailand: Travelers can explore highland plantations and enjoy freshly prepared coffee in spaces deeply influenced by northern Thai art and design.
“Coffee gives travelers an easy way into a destination,” said Andrew Smith, Agoda’s senior vice president of supply. “It can lead you from a beautifully restored shophouse to a hillside farm, or from a quiet morning café to a whole community of makers.”
