The Newport Performing Arts Theater was transformed into a dazzling time capsule of ‘70s Manila Sound as Newport World Resorts hosted the star-studded gala night for “Bongga Ka, ‘Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical” on 25 September 2026.

Attended by a full house of celebrities, theater enthusiasts, and high-profile guests, the evening celebrated the ultimate fusion of retro fashion, disco lights and live theater. Directed by Chris Millado, the vibrant atmosphere captured the energetic nightlife of a bygone era while showcasing a brilliant renaissance of original Filipino musical theater.
