4ID joins Mindanao-wide peace, development communications workshop
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The Army’s 4th Infantry Division joined a two-day Mindanao-wide workshop aimed at coordinating government communication efforts supporting peace, unity and development.
The Major Island Group Action Planning Workshop was organized by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict’s Strategic Communications Cluster at the Aquilino Pimentel Jr. International Convention Center in Cagayan de Oro City.
Held Monday and Tuesday under the theme “One Message, Many Voices,” the workshop gathered government communicators and partners from Regions 9, 10, 11, 12, Caraga and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Participants worked on translating the NTF-ELCAC Communication Plan into localized strategies responsive to communities across Mindanao.
Sessions covered social media management and content development, risk and crisis communication and communication planning.
The activity also supported the National Action Plan for Unity, Peace and Development 2025-2028, which focuses on sustaining peace gains, inclusive development, community participation and responsive governance.
Representing the 4ID were Lt. Col. Jelynne U. Fallar, chief of the Division Public Affairs Office, and Capt. Vincent Mark Maddul, chief of the Civil Affairs Office.
4ID commander Maj. Gen. Marion T. Angcao said closer coordination with government agencies and stakeholders would help ensure that information reaching communities is timely, accurate and relevant.
“Through sustained collaboration with government agencies and partner stakeholders, the 4ID remains committed to supporting communication initiatives that contribute to peace, security, unity, and sustainable development across Northern Mindanao and its neighboring areas,” Angcao said.
