Shooting ruled out at Isulan High noise scare

Officials clarified Wednesday that no shooting occurred at Isulan National High School after a loud noise on campus triggered a security response and led local authorities to suspend face-to-face classes.

The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office of Sultan Kudarat confirmed that the situation remains under control and that no injuries or casualties were reported among students or staff.

Following an initial security assessment, the municipal government suspended afternoon classes as a safety precaution, while the provincial police launched an investigation into the source of the sound.

Sultan Kudarat Governor Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu later issued a statement citing police reports that ruled out any firearm discharge, noting that investigators found no spent ammunition at the scene.

Initial findings indicate that the loud sound was likely caused by a electrical wiring malfunction. Personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection were deployed to inspect the campus facilities and verify the cause of the electrical fault.
