Man wounded in Lucban roadside shooting

LUCBAN, Quezon — A man was wounded after being shot several times along the Lucban-Majayjay Road in Barangay Samil here Sunday evening, police reported.

The shooting occurred at around 6:35 p.m. on Sept. 27.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was sitting along the roadside gutter when an unidentified person suddenly appeared and allegedly shot him several times using a shotgun, hitting different parts of his body.

The victim was rushed to MMG Hospital for treatment.

Police said two unidentified suspects fled toward Majayjay, Laguna aboard an unidentified motorcycle and took the firearm used in the shooting with them.

The motive has yet to be determined.

Authorities have initiated a dragnet operation and are reviewing CCTV footage in an effort to identify and locate the suspects.
