CV household helpers get P500 wage increase

Domestic workers across Central Visayas will receive a P500 monthly wage increase beginning 14 October, bringing their minimum monthly pay to P7,500, according to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).

The adjustment, mandated under Wage Order No. ROVII-DW-06 issued by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board VII, takes effect 15 days following its official publication.

The updated wage floor covers domestic workers in the provinces of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.

Eligible positions include general household help, nannies, cooks, gardeners, laundry personnel and other workers regularly performing domestic duties on an occupational basis.

The order excludes family drivers, commercial service providers and individuals performing domestic work sporadically or on a non-occupational basis.

The monthly pay raise coincides with a separate regional wage order previously approved by the NWPC, which grants a P42 daily wage increase to non-agricultural and commercial workers across Region 7 starting 14 October.
