BBM honors 10 outstanding Filipinos

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday honored 10 educators, soldiers and police officers named the 2026 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos, citing their contributions to education, national security and public safety.

Speaking during the awarding of the Medallion of Excellence, Marcos said the honorees showed that nation-building extends beyond government offices and into classrooms, communities and security institutions.

“They all wear different uniforms but share the same instinct: to serve our people above all else,” Marcos said.

The President cited the education awardees for developing culturally responsive learning tools, improving science instruction and advancing research on emerging technologies.

He also recognized military personnel for strengthening inter-agency coordination, improving operational efficiency through digital platforms and supporting maritime awareness and preparedness in the West Philippine Sea.

Police awardees, meanwhile, were cited for programs focused on crime prevention, youth intervention, women’s participation in anti-drug efforts, and digital systems that improve road safety.

“Our police awardees show the value of prevention and innovation in public safety,” Marcos said.
