CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police recovered seven firearms, a hand grenade, ammunition and suspected illegal drugs in separate operations targeting an alleged robbery syndicate in Zambales, the Police Regional Office 3 said Monday.

PRO3 said three operations conducted on 26 September included two searches in San Antonio that yielded six firearms, a hand grenade and assorted ammunition from individuals allegedly linked to the group based on police intelligence.

In a separate buy-bust operation in Cabangan, police arrested one person and seized 1.61 grams of suspected shabu, 30.1 grams of suspected marijuana and a .38-caliber revolver.

The seized items are being held as evidence, while authorities are preparing charges against those involved, PRO3 said.

“These results show the value of sharp, sustained intelligence work,” PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez said.

“We will keep targeting criminal groups and taking illegal weapons and substances off our streets to keep communities safe,” he added.

PRO3 said intensified law enforcement operations would continue against criminal groups operating across Central Luzon.
