DICT report unveils Globe network performance gains in August
Globe Telecom posted its strongest network performance of the year in August, securing its highest overall score and fastest average download speed in the latest Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Telco Report Card.
The results stem from continued network investments and ongoing collaboration with the government, including the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), to improve telecommunications services nationwide.
Globe recorded an overall score of 81.5 in August, an increase of 4.4 points from January.
Its average download speed reached a 2026 high of 45.9 Mbps, representing a 5.1 percent increase from July and a 26 percent jump from the 36.5 Mbps recorded at the start of the year. Network quality improved to 71.2 from 69.2, while latency held steady at 20 milliseconds.
The NTC continues to collaborate with telecommunications providers to enhance service quality and strengthen connectivity for Filipino consumers.
Globe supports this initiative through sustained capital investments, technology upgrades, and targeted interventions designed to elevate the customer experience, particularly in underserved regions.
"Customers need a network they can depend on every day, and that goes beyond speed," said Atty. Froilan Castelo, Globe General Counsel. "It means being able to stay connected consistently, including during periods of high demand, disruptions, and emergencies. The progress we are seeing shows that our investments are making a difference, but there are still communities where the experience needs to be better. That is where we need to keep pushing."
Globe reported capital expenditures of ₱26.3 billion during the first half of 2026, with 91% allocated to data-related initiatives.
This focus on consistency earned the company recognition as the Most Consistent Mobile Provider for four consecutive periods, according to Ookla Speedtest Intelligence data covering the second half of 2024 through the first half of 2026.
To bolster resilience, Globe deployed Automated Outage Response technology.
The system helps retain up to 50% of data connectivity during network outages—compared to less than 10% without it—by automatically optimizing nearby cell sites during service disruptions.
Efforts to expand reach also advanced in July, when Globe brought mobile connectivity to 52 previously unserved Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs).
The rollout fulfilled the company's commitment to activate services across all 180 project locations under the DICT connectivity initiative.
