Almost P70k worth ‘shabu’ seized from construction worker in Albay

NAGA CITY – Police confiscated close to P70,000 worth of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from a construction worker who was arrested at a buy-bust operation in Polangui town in Albay province on Sunday, 27 September.

“Santi,” 38, was arrested after selling suspected illegal drugs to a poseur buyer at about 6:05 p.m., the Philippine National Police Region 5 said in a report.

Seized from here were nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected “shabu,” weighing 10.2 grams, with a standard drug price of P69,360.

The suspect is now detained at the Polangui police station.

The report further stated that the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) revealed that the suspect was also arrested on 23 June 2024 for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.” The suspect is reportedly currently under probation for this previous charge.
