All bogus projects under probe — Dizon

Davao City — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon said all complaints about flood control projects and the so-called “ghost projects” in the country are being investigated and are not limited to Davao City and Taguig City.

“We are working on this through a proper process regardless of the area, whether it’s Davao City, Taguig City, Cebu, Iloilo, or Ilocos Norte. We work on this based on reports and allegations so we can investigate it,” Dizon said.

Inspect walls

Dizon arrived in Davao City Monday, 28 September, to personally inspect the newly completed gabion walls along Talomo River in Taal, Barangay Bangkal.

Dizon assessed the condition and completion of the river protection structures, which will strengthen the riverbank and protect nearby communities.

On 34 July, the Talomo River overflowed, affecting hundreds of residents in the area and prompting the DPWH to allocate P100 million from its quick response fund for the project.
