Sting ops yield P6.8-M shabu

Police seized approximately one kilogram of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P6.8 million during an undercover operation near a fast-food outlet in Barangay Caniogan, Pasig City on Saturday afternoon.

Operatives from the Pasig City Police Station arrested a 22-year-old suspect, identified by his alias "Amo," during the sting conducted beside a McDonald's branch along C. Raymundo Avenue around 5:20 p.m.

The Eastern Police District (EPD) classified the suspect, a resident of Barangay San Joaquin, as a newly identified high-value drug personality.

Officers recovered six plastic sachets containing the illegal drugs, three marked P1,000 bills used alongside boodle money in the transaction, a digital weighing scale, a sling bag, and a motorcycle used by the suspect.

"We will continue to intensify our intelligence-driven operations against individuals involved in the illegal drug trade," EPD director Brig. Gen. Roman Arugay said in a statement.
