33 Central Luzon ABE staff undergo drying, milling training in Nueva Ecija

Some 33 Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer (ABE) Technical Staff underwent the Training Course on Mechanization and Postharvest Technologies: Drying and Milling held at the PHilMech Main Office in the Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija on 22 to 25 of September 2026.

The said training is under the Enhancing the Technical Capability of the Industry Stakeholders on Mechanization and Postharvest Technologies for Rice and was spearheaded by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech).

The training aims to broaden the knowledge and skills of proper production and post-harvest of rice, including the use, maintenance, and organization of agricultural machineries.

Main topic of the training is the use of the Combo-Impeller Rice Mill, a technology made by the PhilMech for a more efficient and organized processing of milling rice.

Meanwhile, the participants were given a site visit of the Rice Processing System (RPS) II of the CENTER Cooperative at Brgy. Casongsong, Guimba, Nueva Ecija, where they witnessed the actual operation of the facility with employees of the cooperative.

Thru the said training and actual visit in the facility, the participants were given additional knowledge and practical experience that they can use in supporting the mechanization and postharvest development in their areas.
