NCR P60 wage hike takes effect
Tolentino urged employers to comply with the new rates and update their payroll and compensation systems accordingly.
A P60 daily wage increase for about 1.1 million minimum wage earners in the National Capital Region took effect Saturday under Wage Order NCR-28, the Department of Labor and Employment said.
The new rates raise the minimum wage for nonagricultural workers from P695 to P755 a day.
Workers in agriculture, small retail and service establishments employing 15 or fewer workers, and small manufacturing establishments with fewer than 10 workers will receive P718 a day, up from P658.
Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino urged employers to comply with the new rates and update their payroll and compensation systems accordingly.
The DoLE said it would monitor compliance and provide guidance to workers and employers on the implementation of the wage order.
The increase followed the tripartite wage-setting process conducted by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-NCR and confirmed by the National Wages and Productivity Commission.
