NCRPO orders thorough probe into Makati shooting

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has a thorough and comprehensive investigation into the shooting incident in Makati City that left a condominium manager injured.

The incident reportedly occurred along Chino Roces Avenue in Barangay Pio del Pilar, Makati City, where two unidentified motorcycle-riding men allegedly fired several shots at the victim’s vehicle. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to her leg and thigh and was brought to a hospital for medical treatment.

NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano ordered the Southern Police District (SPD) and Makati City Police Station to exhaust all available investigative and intelligence resources to identify, locate, and arrest the perpetrators and determine the motive behind the shooting.

“I have directed the Southern Police District to conduct a thorough and exhaustive investigation into this incident. We will pursue every lead. Examine all CCTV footage and other evidence and identify the individuals responsible for this shooting,” Abrahano said

Initial reports indicated that the two suspects were wearing uniforms reportedly associated with a motorcycle ride-hailing service.

Abrahano warned the public against individuals who may use ride-hailing uniforms or similar identifying marks to conceal their identities while committing criminal activities.

“We warn individuals who may be using ride- hailing uniforms. As a disguise to commit crimes that this will not protect them from the law. We will identify and run after you. Do not misuse the identity of legitimate riders to facilitate criminal activities” Abrahano said.

Abrahano said the NCRPO is looking into initiating a dialogue with motorcycle ride-hailing companies to explore stronger mechanisms for distinguishing legitimate riders from individuals who may be using counterfeit uniforms, identification cards, helmets, or other company-related markings.

The NCRPO also reminded the public to immediately report the police any suspicious individuals or activities they may encounter.
