Getaway motorcycle in Makati daylight ambush recovered

Police investigators have recovered the getaway motorcycle used in the ambush of a female condominium manager in Makati City, prompting regional police leadership to establish a dedicated task force and warn against criminals disguising themselves as ride-hailing drivers.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Officer-in-Charge Police Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano ordered the Southern Police District (SPD) and the Makati City Police Station to form Special Investigation Task Group “Condo” to track down the gunmen responsible for the Thursday morning shooting along Chino Roces Avenue in Barangay Pio del Pilar.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to her leg and thigh and remains in stable condition at a local hospital.

PNP Public Information Office Chief Col. Allen Rae Co confirmed that investigators recovered the getaway motorcycle in Metro Manila after performing extensive CCTV camera tracking.

The license plate matched footage recorded during the crime scene, though police are verifying potential registration discrepancies.

“It has been confirmed that this is the exact motorcycle used in the crime,” Co said, adding that officers also recovered clothing near the vehicle that matched descriptions worn by the suspects.

Initial surveillance footage showed two suspects wearing uniforms affiliated with a motorcycle ride-hailing service.

Abrahano warned criminals against using legitimate transport uniforms to evade detection, saying the NCRPO plans to meet with ride-hailing companies to establish verification protocols distinguishing licensed drivers from individuals using counterfeit apparel or gear.

Investigators are examining work-related disputes as a potential motive behind the targeted attack.
