DPWH pledges full P644-B budget transparency

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will publish details of all government infrastructure projects on an online transparency portal for public review following the approval of its P644-billion budget by the House of Representatives.

DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon gave the assurance as the agency prepares to execute more than 11,000 evaluated infrastructure initiatives across the country.

“This is the people’s money, which is why we must remain transparent,” Dizon said. “Every project must have complete requirements, undergo thorough study, and genuinely address the needs of our citizens.”

Dizon cited that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. personally ordered the department to make project documents, specifications, and implementation statuses accessible online to encourage public monitoring.

Under the directive, the DPWH will post the complete documentation and procurement requirements for each project on its transparency portal, allowing taxpayers to track the progress of works in their respective communities.
