Chiefs clobber Altas

Arellano University kept its unbeaten record intact with a 88-65 win over University of Perpetual Help System DALTA on Friday in Group B action of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 102 basketball tournament at the Philsports Arena.

The Chiefs came out firing and never looked back, racing to a 3-0 win-loss record without being slammed into a wall.

A triple from T-Mc Ongotan with 9:28 in the first period sparked Arellano’s 18-9 run as they dominated the whole match.

A Leyton Buenaventura jumper with 5:39 left in the second quarter gave the Chiefs their biggest lead of the game at 25 points, 44-19.

Perpetual never found a response as Arellano maintained control the rest of the way.

“The preparation really paid off — we prepared to win, and that’s really all there was to it. We stayed consistent,” Chiefs head coach Chico Manabat said.
