Angelica Lopez pushes through hoarse voice at MGI

Miss Grand Philippines 2026 Angelica Lopez refused to let a weakened voice stop her from taking the stage as she continued her Miss Grand International journey with determination.

Despite reportedly struggling with her voice for several days, the Filipina beauty queen pushed ahead with her performance during the Grand Talent Audition, singing even while noticeably hoarse.

The challenge came at a crucial point in the international competition, but Lopez chose to perform rather than allow the setback to keep her from representing the Philippines.

Her appearance highlighted the determination she is bringing to the pageant after earning the right to carry the Philippine sash through her victory at the inaugural Reina Filipinas competition.

Lopez, who represents Palawan, is now competing against delegates from around the world for the Miss Grand International crown. Aside from the major competition events, she is also seeking support in the Miss Popular Award, where fans can cast their votes through the pageant’s official platform.

With the talent audition behind her, Lopez will now turn her attention to the next important stages of the competition.

The National Costume and Preliminary Competition is scheduled for October 7, followed by the Grand Finals on October 10.

For Lopez, performing despite her vocal difficulty offered an early display of perseverance as she continues her bid to bring another international pageant honor home to the Philippines.
