Woman, teener shot dead along Quirino Highway

A 41-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were shot and killed Monday night along Quirino Highway in Barangay 181, Caloocan City, local authorities said.

Video taken shortly after 7 p.m. showed the victims lying on the pavement in front of a parked van with multiple gunshot wounds.

Romeo Indelible, deputy barangay public safety officer for Barangay 181 Annex, confirmed that the female victim resided in the neighborhood. Investigators are working to identify the teenager and determine his relationship to the woman.

“We assisted at the scene and found both victims lying on Quirino Avenue, already covered with newspaper and cardboard,” Indelible said.

Initial police findings indicate the two victims were standing along the highway waiting for a jeepney bound for Malaria Road when a gunman approached and opened fire.
