Kim Chiu attends sister Lakam Chiu’s arraignment

It’s Showtime host Kim Chiu personally witnessed her estranged sister, Lakambini “Lakam” Chiu’s, arraignment on Thursday, 24 September, at the Quezon City Hall of Justice.

In a video uploaded by ABS-CBN News on Facebook, Chiu was accompanied by Laurenti Dyogi, head of Star Magic, which manages the actress’ career.

Chiu did not grant any interview after the arraignment.

Lakam is currently detained at the Kamuning Police Station while facing 124 counts of qualified theft filed by her sister, Kim.

Lakam was visited by her father, William Chiu Jr., last Tuesday, 22 September. According to William, they are still in the process of gathering funds for his daughter’s bail, initially pegged at P5.8 million. Later, after Lakam’s lawyer, Atty. Dominic Solis, filed a motion for reconsideration, the bail was reduced to P5.6 million.

Lakam was arrested by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) last 20 September in Barangay Wack Wack, Mandaluyong City, by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 84.
