Two arrested, 1.57 grams of suspected shabu seized in Ilocos Sur

Two men were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Ilocos Sur, resulting in the seizure of 1.57 grams of suspected shabu on September 22, 2026.

In Candon City, police arrested a 28-year-old married construction worker and resident of the city during a buy-bust operation that started at 6:20 p.m.

Authorities recovered 0.10 grams of suspected shabu valued at P680, contained in a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet.

Police also seized two machine-copied P1,000 bills used as boodle money, a piece of plain paper, a blue Oppo Android phone and a black bicycle.

In Caoayan, a 29-year-old unemployed man from Barangay Capangpangan, Vigan City, was arrested in a separate buy-bust operation that started at 7:30 p.m.

The operation yielded 1.47 grams of suspected shabu worth P9,996, contained in two small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets.

Police also recovered a genuine P100 buy-bust bill, three machine-copied P1,000 bills, a black coin purse, a black Vivo cellular phone, a red sling bag and a black Honda TMX 125 motorcycle.

Police said the seized evidence was inventoried and marked on site in the presence of the suspects and mandatory witnesses, as required by law.

The suspects are expected to face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
