BoC logs record revenue collection

The Bureau of Customs (BoC) generated a record P664.78 billion in revenue from January to August 2026, exceeding its target by P5.47 billion based on revised figures from the Development Budget Coordination Committee.

Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno announced the milestone during the 13th Collectors’ Conference hosted by the Port of Clark, noting it marks the agency’s highest eight-month collection total on record.

“I am generally happy with the performance of our ports and the results that we have achieved so far,” Nepomuceno said.

“However, these accomplishments must be coupled with our continuous commitment to good governance and strengthened border protection efforts,” he added.

Alongside revenue gains, the agency carried out 858 seizure operations during the same eight-month period, intercepting an estimated P22.74 billion worth of smuggled goods, including illicit cigarettes, narcotics, counterfeit items, and agricultural products.

The bureau recognized 12 collection districts for reaching or surpassing their individual targets: the Ports of San Fernando, Legazpi, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Davao, Subic, Clark, Aparri and Limay.
