Arms cache found in Nueva Ecija

Authorities have recovered firearm and ammunition at the mountainous area of Purok 4, Brgy. Casilagan in the town of Rizal, Nueva Ecija on 20 September 2026.

According to the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (2PMFC) of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO), a minor Internal Security Operation (ISO) was conducted at the said area by the authorities.

The operation resulted in the recovery of one homemade Caliber 7.62 M14 rifle, 10 rounds of Caliber 7.62 live ammunition, and one homemade Caliber .38 revolver without serial number, believed to have been left by CTG members near the site of a previous armed encounter with the AFP.

The recovery was based on information provided during the continuous debriefing of alias “Ka SARO,” a former CTG member who had previously surrendered to the unit.

While armed rebel activity has historically plagued Nueva Ecija, a series of successful military crackdowns, the dismantling of local guerrilla fronts, and widespread surrenders have shifted the landscape from active conflict to government-led community reintegration.
