Wild Rift Patch 7.3 changes how you carry
Riot Games is shaking up League of Legends: Wild Rift with Patch 7.3, bringing sweeping gameplay changes designed to put greater emphasis on scaling, farming and strategic map control.
Among the biggest winners are marksmen. Base critical strike damage increases from 175 percent to 200 percent, while the attack speed cap rises from 2.5 to three attacks per second.
Several marksmen, including Ezreal, Kai’Sa, Lucian, Caitlyn, Jinx, Vayne and Ashe, are also receiving individual adjustments. Items such as Stormrazor, Rapid Firecannon and Immortal Shieldbow are being reworked alongside other additions to the marksman arsenal.
Support items are also changing, with Echoes of Helia geared toward offensive supports who can turn damage into healing, while Ardent Censer, Staff of Flowing Waters and Harmonic Echo receive adjustments.
Jungle gets down to business
Patch 7.3 puts a premium on farming for junglers instead of constantly hunting for ganks.
Consistently clearing camps provides bonus gold and builds Ecosystem Protection stacks, allowing Smite to progress from 600 to 1,000 and eventually 1,400 true damage.
Epic monsters will also scale according to the average level of players in a match rather than simply becoming stronger over time.
Turrets are getting their own overhaul. Plating will extend to outer, inner and inhibitor turrets and remain permanently, while the new Crystalline Overgrowth mechanic allows turrets to accumulate crystals that can be detonated with a champion’s first basic attack.
The changes are intended to make pushing and protecting lanes more consequential, forcing teams to turn successful fights into map control rather than simply chasing more kills.
Three new faces enter the Rift
Hwei, the Visionary, arrives on 22 September as a versatile mid-laner with a broad arsenal divided among Subject: Disaster, Subject: Serenity and Subject: Torment.
Sylas and Rek’Sai will also join the roster during Patch 7.3. Sylas brings his signature ability to steal an opponent’s ultimate, while Rek’Sai specializes in hunting enemies and initiating fights.
Competitive play is also being refined. The S/A and MVP scoring system will evaluate performance according to a player’s lane and champion role, while Legendary Ranked receives adjustments to progression.
Players looking for something different can jump into Rift Rumble, a new 3v3 mode played on a symmetrical map where teams fight for kills and powerful Ultimate Stones.
The AAA Realm is also returning with a music-themed season and new augment cards.
