Two arrested in separate drug busts in Dagupan City

Police arrested two men and seized a total of four grams of suspected shabu in separate buy-bust operations in Dagupan City, Pangasinan from late September 21 to early September 22.

The first operation was conducted at around 11:45 p.m. on September 21, resulting in the arrest of a 23-year-old unemployed man who is a resident of Mangaldan, Pangasinan.

Personnel from Dagupan City Police Office Police Station 5, City Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Criminal Investigation Unit, Criminal Investigation and Detection Management Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 conducted the operation.

Police recovered one gram of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P6,800, contained in a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet.

Authorities also confiscated a genuine P500 bill used as buy-bust money, four photocopied P1,000 bills used as boodle money, a navy blue coin purse and a Suzuki Raider motorcycle.

The second operation was conducted at around 1:40 a.m. on September 22, resulting in the arrest of a 32-year-old tricycle driver and resident of Dagupan City.

Personnel from Dagupan City Police Office Station 1, City Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Criminal Investigation Unit, PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 1 and PDEA Regional Office 1 conducted the operation.

Police seized three grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P20,400, contained in a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet.

Also recovered were a genuine P500 bill used as buy-bust money and 20 photocopied P1,000 bills used as boodle money.

The inventory and marking of the seized evidence in both operations were conducted on-site in the presence of the suspects and mandatory witnesses, police said.

The two suspects are expected to face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
