The fourth edition of the Travel Sale Expo will be held from 2 to 4 October at SM Megamall, bringing together tourism destinations, travel deals and industry players from the Philippines and several international markets.

Organizers announced the event during a press conference on Thursday, 17 September, at the Embassy of Malaysia, where representatives from Malaysia, Guam, Indonesia and the Philippines presented tourism opportunities aimed at Filipino travelers.

With the theme “Where Travel Dreams Come Alive,” the three-day expo is expected to draw about 50,000 visitors, according to organizers.

The event will feature travel promotions and destination information, along with entertainment and activities designed to engage visitors.

Among the activities lined up are an F4 contest, cosplay, interpretative dance performances, a travel vlogger challenge, raffles and other programs scheduled throughout the expo.

The press conference was attended by Malaysian Ambassador to the Philippines Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino; Michelle G. Taylan, chairman and founder of the Travel Sale Expo and president of the Global Tourism Business Association; Tourism Malaysia Director Mohd Faizal Sharip; Indonesian Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Victorina Hesti Dewayani; and Deputy Chief of Mission Michael Lee.

Representing the Department of Tourism (DoT) National Capital Region were OIC regional director Catherin Agustin and regional director Carissa Mangubat Reyes.

Also present were Claude Angco of Starlux Airlines, Philip Gejon of the Guam Visitors Bureau and Ryna Brito-Garcia, CEO of Sunlight Air.

The DoT was represented by Assistant Secretary Ferdinand Jose Q. Bagcal, who was designated by Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay.

Organizers said the expo is intended to give Filipino travelers greater access to information on destinations and travel offers while providing tourism and travel industry stakeholders with a venue to connect with potential customers.
