Three women arrested for illegal tong-its gambling in Manaoag

Three women were arrested by police for allegedly playing tong-its during an anti-gambling operation in Manaoag, Pangasinan on September 21.

Personnel of the Manaoag Municipal Police Station conducted the operation at around 5:20 p.m., resulting in the arrest of the three suspects who were allegedly caught in the act of playing the card game.

The suspects were identified as women aged 31, 25 and 23, all reportedly jobless, with live-in partners and residents of Manaoag.

Police confiscated one deck of playing cards and P378 in bet money in various denominations.

The suspects and the confiscated items were brought to the Manaoag Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

Police said the arrests were made for alleged violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which penalizes illegal gambling activities.
