Woman arrested, P36,040 worth of suspected shabu seized in Dagupan

A 56-year-old widow and beautician was arrested after police seized 5.3 grams of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, early 21 September.

The suspect, a native of Zamboanga City and presently residing in Bauang, La Union, was arrested during an operation conducted from 1:10 a.m. to 2:22 a.m. by personnel of Police Station 6, the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit, intelligence and investigation units, the City Mobile Force Company and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 1.

Police recovered 5.3 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P36,040, contained in two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets.

Authorities also confiscated P500 in marked money, 16 P1,000 boodle bills, an iPhone 7, a Lenovo tablet and a shoulder bag.

The seized evidence was inventoried and marked at the scene in the presence of the suspect and mandatory witnesses, in accordance with legal requirements.

The suspect is set to face charges for alleged violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
